Sophie Contess du Bouteiler signed and exhibited under Henriette Browne, the name of her Irish grandmother. She exhibited frequently at the Paris Salon, her works being purchased by the Emperor Napoleon and Empress Eugenie, among others. Her work can be found in the collections of The National Gallery, The Victoria and Albert Museum and Christchurch Art Gallery.
